What is the Water Cycle?

The Water Cycle is Nature’s way for recycling water. The water in the Pacific ocean is heated by the sun which turns water into vapor. The vapor floats into the air and forms clouds and fog. When atmospheric conditions are right, the clouds will release water in the form of rain or snow depending upon air temperature. The rain and melting snow will run into Jameson Lake and Cachuma Lake. As water finds its way back to the ocean, underground reservoirs or groundwater basins, including the District water wells, are filled.
