District Releases Annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR)
Annual Test Results Confirm that Water Quality Meets or Exceeds Standards.
New Fiscal Year Starts July 1
Along with other business, the Board will review / approve the Budget for fiscal year 2018-19 during the regular monthly meeting scheduled to take place at the District office on June 26th at 2:00pm.
Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 24, 2:00pm at the District Office includes Two Public Hearings: The meeting is open to the public and any person present will have the opportunity to comment or ask questions on these items:
1) Continuation of the Water Availability Charge (WAC)
Collected annually since 1996, the Water Availability Charge is assessed on the county tax roll and funds are used exclusively for water system improvement projects such as upgrades to distribution services, aging infrastructure, and fire flows / reliability. The District proposes to continue the existing charge with no increase and no change in the methodology by which it is calculated.
2) Formation of a Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA)
The Board of Directors will consider and possibly adopt “A Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Montecito Water District Declaring its Intention to Become the Groundwater Sustainability Agency Pursuant to the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act for the Montecito Groundwater Basin.” Additional information may be obtained by submitting a written request via email to [email protected] or by calling 805.969.2271. A copy of the draft resolution will be available 72 hours in advance of the meeting at the front counter of the District office and online at www.montecitowater.com
