AUGUST PRECIPITATION

National Weather Service reports that "Hilary" Tropical Storm/Hurricane is on the way. Please refrain from all outdoor irrigation prior to and following this pending storm event, which could bring 2 inches of rain or more.

  • Rain and wind is currently anticipated in our area beginning Sunday.
  • More information on August storms and preparedness can be found at this link to readysbc.org
  • For tracking Hilary, the National Hurricane Center web page linked here provides detailed information which is updated every 6 hours.

Current models indicate that 1-4 inches of rainfall is possible through Wednesday, likely accompanied by strong winds. Please stay alert for flash flooding and other potential storm impacts.

Last week half an inch of rain fell over the area including at Jameson Lake, very unusual for this time of year.
