Montecito Water District is pleased to announce that we are improving processes with new technology to provide added benefit and value for our customers. Please take a moment to review the seven important points below.

Summer Activites at the District

Annual Test Results Confirm that Water Quality Meets or Exceeds Standards. Along with other business, the Board will review / approve the Budget for fiscal year 2018-19 during the regular monthly meeting scheduled to take place at the District office on June 26th at 2:00pm.

Montecito Groundwater Basin Sustainable Management Update

On Friday, May 18, the DWR Sustainable Groundwater Management Program released a draft prioritization of groundwater basins as required by the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Under the 2018 SGMA Basin Prioritization, 14 basins previously ranked as low- or very-low are now ranked as high- or medium-priority. Included are Montecito Groundwater Basin, now ranked medium-priority, and Carpinteria Groundwater Basin, now ranked high-priority.

New Meeting Dates to Start in May. The regular monthly Board of Directors meeting has been changed to the 4th Tuesday of the month. Regular Board Meeting May 22nd at 2pm District Office, 583 San Ysidro Road, 93108

Spring Forward

Beginning in May, the regular meeting schedule will be as follows: Board of Directors: Monthly on the 4th Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Operations Committee: Monthly on Monday at 9:30 a.m.; one week prior to Board meeting
Finance Committee: Monthly on the 3rd Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Strategic Planning Committee: Monthly on the 1st Monday at 9:30 a.m.

Monitoring the Rain

Montecito Water District reports no impacts from the current rain as of 4:00pm, March 21, 2018. During evacuations, Customer Service is available by phone during regular office hours, 7:30am-5:00pm. The phone number is: 805.969.2271

Give Irrigation Systems the Rainy Season Off

We encourage all customers to turn irrigation systems off during the rainy season and particularly during evacuations prompted by rainfall. After a 1/4 inch of rain, no irrigation is needed for 10 sunny days, and longer if the weather is cool or overcast.
